Guanyin, Guan Yin or Kuan Yin is the most commonly used Chinese translation of the bodhisattva known as Avalokiteśvara.
 
The last southern China Chen Dynasty empress named Guanyin by Buddhist nuns (557-589) is depicted standing on a lotus flower above the billowing oceans of the world.

She was also known as the Iron Goddess of Mercy and our artist craftsman has depicted her standing tall but gracious, sprinkling her blessings on us mortals beneath. This complex but elegantly executed figurine exudes a cool and calming aura as well as being a focus because of the flowing design that draws the eye all the way from top to bottom. Made in the old Shiwan potteries at the kilns twenty miles south of the city of Canton, China.

This is the most famous city in China in creating ceramic products forover 500 years. Most of the masterpieces created in the town were collected in national museums and collectors around the globe. Hand crafted and hand painted.
